Teens Deadly Prank

Authorities in Michigan have taken several teens into custody after dropping rocks from an I-75 overpass, killing a man. Five teens have been charged with second degree murder and conspiracy to commit second degree murder. Each is being tried as an adult. The victim, Kenneth White, 32, was killed while riding in a truck when a rock shattered the windshield and hit him, killing him. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office claims the accident was a “prank”. Many other vehicles were hit by the rocks thrown by the teens, but no one else was hurt. The teens are to be arraigned tomorrow.

I feel as though labeling this incident as a prank is a bit too lighthearted and juvenile considering its effects. Pranks rarely cause a death. The teens were aware of their actions. Throwing rocks is very dangerous, especially throwing them at vehicles traveling at high speeds. I think these teens should be held accountable for their actions and hope for healing in Kenneth’s family and friends.

  1. I agree with you because a lot of people would just say that teens are childish and are just playing around, but they didn't even think of the consequences they just did it. Now a whole family is affected not everything is fun.

  2. I honestly think that pranks are getting out of hand. Yes, they are funny but one stupid mistake like this can cost someone's life. The fact that this is even being considered as a prank bothers me. Someone died because of a careless action and they say that it was just some silly prank? Sad.
