Jeson Aviles - A pregnant woman was reportedly fired over her viral body-positive photo shoot

In Texas, a pregnant woman named Stephanie was fired from her job at Austin Bank Texas as a result of her boudoir photo shoot, boudoir photography being a style displaying intimate, romantic, and in some instances, erotic images of the subjects - different from glamour and art nude photography. Once the images went viral after they were shared on Wolf & Rose Photography's Facebook page, Stephanie's employers considered the photos to be inappropriate, becoming concerned that they "didn't fit in with their family-oriented company". Having taken them with her fiancé, Arynn, and expecting their first child, Stephanie does not regret the photo shoot. "I honestly have never felt more attractive... I was so nervous to see the final result. I didn't know what to expect. But when I saw the album, I was shocked. I look so in love and confident. Every person should be able to see themselves in that light. It is really eye-opening." Viewed as inappropriate instead of body-positive and fun and an experience with a loved one, the company dismissed Stephanie, stripping her of insurance and her paid maternity leave - but she has landed another position. The post gained over 67,000 likes and comments from individuals inspired and touched by the photos.

Written 6 hours ago by Emily DiNuzzo from INSIDER, this article is another source of proof of how truly retrograded, childishly sensitive, and ignorant people can be. "Family-oriented", dude, SHE WORKED AT A BANK, NOT A SCHOOL. And even if she did work anywhere else, LIKE A SCHOOL, women have a right to their decisions - her home life and work life are two separate things. Nothing was wrong with those photos, they were a beacon of beauty and positivity.

  1. Body-positivity should be promoted and people should be able to love themselves without worrying about what others think. I'm tired of people slut-shaming women because they're proud of the skin they're in. Times have changed and I would think people change with it.

  2. This my question. How exactly is a bank family oriented. Kids are so bored to death easily and a bank is probably the most boring place to them. (Honestly, I am bored too death when sitting at a bank). There is also a right to publish or post anything, within legal boundaries. I feel like this lady isn't wrong in this situation but the bank or company at fault.

  3. Why should somebody be fired for a simple photo shoot? Though the pictures were intimate, that doesn't mean they should be punished for feeling good about themselves. And also it's a bank??????? How is this family-oriented?????????????

  4. I feel that the bank was in the wrong here. She is creating live and she wants to look good and feel good. The lady was clearly wanting to do a photo shoot to show that. Even though,I could see why that could be looked as negative, the company has no right to fire her for doing what she did.
