Summary: Even though Hurricane Mattew hit Haiti, there were actually less disappointing outcomes as one may think. There has been organizations helping this poor region out with things from physical protection, to health. There were less deaths to occur and important things like clean water and shelters are available to the people in need.
Analysis: After Hurricane Matthew had had it's way with Haiti, survivors began, immediately, trying to put their lives back together. This hurricane was actually the largest humanization event to occur, since the 2010 hurricane in Port- au-Prince. Even though hunger and sanitation concerns were raised, there are organizations that have people more comfortable on the discussing of the subject. Because there were so many passings of Haitian people in recent years, programs with disaster preparedness and responses have slightly adjusted the numbers. Things like this have had an impact in the number of people who now are prepared and aware. The European Union even stepped in along side of the rest of the teams, with things like shelter and clean water. There are also funding programs online for people to contribute to these functions of the region. Haiti is also moving on quite quicker than you would expect, roads are being cleared and people are getting back to work. Even though there are still food shortages, they're continuing their importations and the Dominican Republic trucks food there to get them more on their feet.
Synthesis: I know that the whole hurricane thing is such a downer to many, but I'm glad that there are people who are well and able to help out. Hopefully the funding and organizations will continue on, so that they will be even more focused in the future. With programs and loving people like this, hurricanes won't be such a big deal and everyone will be ready for any outcomes.
