Summary: There has been a lot of upheveal since the video of Trump making lewd and horrific comments about women. The question is, what is Vice President Mike Pence going to do about this? Will he resign from the campaign? For now he is sticking with Trump in public, but is going to watch Trump closely tonight and keep his options open. Many Republicans are done with Trump after this last round of horrific comments, and would like him to step down. This is an awkward position for Pence to be in , but it makes sense for him to stay, states the article.
Analysis/Synthesis: I think theres a little bias on Pence staying rather than leaving Trump. This was just released about an hour ago before the debate--- so could change after its over. e I am completely disgusted with what Trump has said, but what would be best for Pence? There needs to be someone level headed! Because if Trump had to find a new Vice President, he couldn't find anyone! I think it would be great if Trump would step down! However, I'm doubting that would ever happen. In some ways this connects to the election of 1796 when Adams won and Jefferson became VP, because they hated each other. This article clearly shows Pence does not respect Trump's character or lack of character, but he will probably remain on the ticket with him.

I am quite interested to see what will happen after this debate is over. Trump needs to apologize for his terrible words.
ReplyDeleteWhen I heard about how Trump defended himself about using his celebrity status to assault women by saying that it was just "locker room talk," I instantly felt that he could have not said anything more anti-feminist. Hearing his supporters comment that this sort of behavior is "normal" coming from a man makes me weep for this country.
