Stephanie Toribio- Philippine President Insults Obama As He Refuses To Be Lectured On Human Rights

Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte insulted Obama on Monday, calling him a "son of a w****" as he refused to be lectured on human rights by the US president. Duterte would be questioned by him over a crime war that has killed over 2400 lives in two months. Duterte was supposed to hold a bilateral meeting on Tuesday with Obama, who asked his staff if it would be productive to meet with him.
Duterte was elected after promising to eliminate illegal drugs in a war that would get thousands of suspects killed. He has since then rejected criticism from the Catholic church and the United Nations and has vowed to keep going until the last of the drugs has been eliminated from the country. Duterte insisted that he would not listen to what Obama had to say nor would he take orders from him.

Analysis: the author of the article is known as "Our Foreign Staff", and I have absolutely no idea who they are or who they work for, but their POV seemed to be that they just wanted to tell it like it is. They also added numerous quotes from Duterte that show that he doesn't care what others think of him as long as he gets his crime war. The article was written on September 5th on the Telegraph. The article was mainly informing the reader of what Duterte has done in his term as president and how much he swears. This is relevant because it's Obama, who clearly has better things to do. This article reminds me of the Salem witch trials for some reason; a powerful group (or in this case a person) who wants to completely annihilate a certain something, not caring how many die or get hurt so long as the deed is done.

  1. People need to communicate more and discuss issues to come to a conclusion and not ratting out the other with mean and hateful comments. This is the 21st century and people of the United States have the right to the freedom of speech, no one can stop that. We just need to address the issues and problems and go from there.
