Mackenzie Bessner- The devastating effects of heroin
On Wednesday afternoon, a police officer in Ohio stopped a vehicle for abnormal behavior. When the officer checked the car, he discovered that the driver was barely conscious and the passenger was passed out, turning blue. In the back of the vehicle, there was a four-year-old boy. This boy tuned out to be the woman's child. The officer quickly called an ambulance who administered the lifesaving drug Narcan, used to reverse opioid overdoses. After they were revived, they were arrested for being under the influence.
I believe this article is very important because it shows just how deadly heroin can be. Heroin is a highly addicted and dangerous drug usually taken by injecting it into a vein. This drug is also used by millions of addicts around the world.
Along with this article, they released a picture of the couple passed out in the car, I believe they did this to raise awareness of what the effects of these drugs can do to you. Hopefully people can start to recognize what can happen if you take this drug and it may just change some people's lives.

It is devastating to hear about drug overdoses. My heart hurts for the families of the students who died from this. During 2014 in the United States, there were a total of 47,055 drug overdose deaths. I hope people will spread awareness to stay away from drugs!

This really hurts my soul to hear about the tremendous deaths that are being caused because of the over dosage of heroin. We need a END to this now!
