Summary: Approximately fifteen years ago, the United States experienced one of the most tragic events in history when two air planes crashed into the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan. This tragic event has scarred many Americans for life and life after the 9/11 attacks will never be the same. Even fifteen years later a sense of fear, anger, and worry still lingers in the hearts of the American citizens. Every year around the anniversary of 9/11 America is at a higher risk of experiencing a 9/11 related terrorist attack and its quite frightening. With the rise of ISIS, the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013, airports attacks in Brussels, and the attack at a club in Orlando, Florida, it is extremely possible of having another incident. A recent poll was taken and the main idea of it was if a group of people would trust Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump more if a terrorist attack happened. 51% of the people said they trust Donald Trump more and 49% trusted Hillary Clinton more.
Analysis: Jennifer Agiesta, CNN Polling Director created the article and her point of view is that many Americans, particularly Republicans are worried about there being another 9/11 attack on its 15th anniversary. This article was written on September 9th, which shows its relevance. Although the topic is based on a circumstance from 15 years ago, the effects that the issue had will last forever and still effects many Americans today. Prior to reading the article, I felt the same way about the possibility of another terrorist attack around this time of the year. Everyone knows the story of this terrible attack and it evokes a different kind of emotion ever year around this time. Some may feel fearful, others anger, or worry. The 15th anniversary should bring Americans together and to look at the progress that we have made since then and this article should make the reader appreciate life. This article is written for anyone who enjoys history, people who experienced the day of 9/11, or anyone interested in the topic. I believe that it has a positive effect because Americans can see that they may share the same feelings or emotions on this topic, which brings them together. It was written to inform the readers of how 9/11 has effected, still effects, and will likely effect people all across the world. This article is important because it is educational and should bring change to the world that terrorism does not solve anything. It is relevant because there are terrorists such as ISIS that still have the mentality that terrorism is acceptable and they completely have no regard for people's lives or families. Since 9/11 is a historical event itself, it has already gone down in history, but 15 years later, America has recovered and we're moving on to even greater things.

ReplyDeleteI agree that even though articles about 9/11 are really devastating to read, they do somehow leave a positive feeling about how we've recovered as Americans, and how we continue to honor all of the people to this day.
