As a part of his trip through Mexico, Pope Francis made a stop by the tomb of a highly controversial priest who protected the natives of San Cristobal De Las Casas, Mexico. There, he prayed and denounced the exploitation of the indigenous people in that area, as well as attending a mass that integrated various parts of the native's culture.
I mean, this just proves that Pope Francis is the most fantastic person of all time. It shows how much, despite how much I like to give the human race a hard time (not without reason), we really have progressed quite a lot. Christopher Columbus and his lot probably didn't consider the natives fully human which of course led to all of them being enslaved or dying, but now our religious leaders are openly denouncing them, which of course is really the least they could do but, hey, it's still something.

ReplyDeleteI am very glad that the pope is issuing a new era of acceptance in the catholic religion.
I am so happy that leaders in our world today are becoming aware of their words and actions, then using them for good.
