In the last few months ,Flint,a city near Detroit, has been experiencing a rise in legionaries disease. Emails were recovered between high ranking Michigan officials showing that they new about the rise in legionaries disease being connected to the tainted water long before the governor announced the outbreak. theses emails were dated last March but the governor first mentioned it this January. More than a year has passed since March. this is irresponsible and unacceptable. ten people died from the disease linked to the tainted water. these deaths could have been adverted if the governor had steeped in way earlier. this reminds me of when the american gave small-pox infected blankets to native Americans to kill them off. the Michigan officials new what was happening but set it aside for a year.
This is similar to the ebola outbreak. A nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital suggested ebola as Duncan's diagnosis when he first arrived, but no one believed her, and no one wanted to do the tests because of time sensitivity. If they had taken action, Duncan may not have died.
