Two commuter trains crashed head on killing 9 people and injuring 90 others. They were going about 60 mph and crashed into each other in a curve. The automatic braking system failed to activated on either of the trains which could've helped prevented this crash. Rail operators had to go back and check to see if the automatics are even function properly.
Factories in the 1800s weren't safe for the employees. Despite having to work all day and women and children not being respected as much as the men, the conditions were unbearable and deadly. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory is one of the biggest tragedy accidents in the in American industrial history. The workers could've lived but the sweatshop lacked the proper safety features. After this many laws developed to help protect workers more. This is important because the people in charge have to make sure the areas employees work in are safe and to make sure there aren't any technical problems.

This is so devastating!! I hope that people can fix the problem regarding the braking system and be preventive in the future so that these kind of accidents don't happen again! -Nicole Chatham 6th period
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sad story and it is kind of weird how neither of their automatic braking systems were working. Hopefully the rail operators make sure this doesn't happen again.
