Water shortage is a lot worse than scientists thought. New calculations show the about 4 billion people live without clean water at least one month of the year. Water shortage is a global crisis, now thought of as one of the world's top three global problems, along with climate change and terrorism, according to the world economic forum. Half of those without clean water are in China and India, the world's most populous countries, and the water crisis is a major risk to the global economy.

This is a problem that you can't just forget about. The water crisis is affecting billions, and I feel incredibly lucky to have the luxury of freshwater everyday. This is a problem that we really need to work on- it's effecting the economy, health, and according to the article it's "heightened the potential for global conflict in places like the Middle East and Africa." I remember seeing a little while ago a lot of clips of a town somewhere in midwestern U.S. that had this orange-yellow water. What stuck out to me was the number of people who were so shocked, when this has been happening all over the world for a long time.

  1. This seems borderline unsolvable, but I believe technology can soon come up with some sort of remedy.
