Father dies after carrying daughter, 8, out of burning home

A man, identified now as Demetrius Johnson, carried his 8 year-old daughter from their home, after she was badly burned to the lower floor at about 4 in the morning. Demetrius got the mother and the little baby out of the fire, but went back in to try and rescue/look for his 3 year-old son. Sadly, Demetrius died trying to rescue his son, because he never came out, and was found where the fire fighters found the 3 year-old son and carried the child out. Everyone was brought to the hospital, and 2 of the children were not injured, but sadly Demetrius died and the wife had something so sad to mention. Johnson had just proposed to her on Valentine's Day and they were engaged. She cried while saying, "I never got the chance to marry him." (The cause of the fire is still being investigated)

This story is horrific and so sad! It reminds me of everything that went on back then. From all of the up's and downs, never take anything for granted. Always stay humble and treat everyday like it may be your last because you never know.

  1. The father must have been selfless and heroic to commit such an act. History benefits from his bravery.

  2. This is very sad but I'm very happy to see how heroic the father was to his children.
