SUMMARY:
Chicago teen, Quintonio LeGrier, was killed the day after Christmas by police officer Robert Rialmo. Now almost 2 months after the shooting Rialmo is suing LeGrier's estate for $10 million dollars as penance for trauma caused by the death he caused. Officer Rialmo explains that he only ever shot the teen after he swung and missed twice with a baseball bat at the officer. Now remember both times he missed, after LeGrier continued to disobey orders he was shot and killed. And the police officer wants money.
ANALYSIS:
It is probably pretty clear to see that my opinion is heavily sided with the fact that this is insane. The police officer is suing a dead teen's estate for $10 million dollars because he has trauma after he killed said teen? Am I missing something? The officer did willingly pull the trigger, which then resulted in LeGrier's death, did he not? Maybe I'm missing something (I'm not, and this is crazy).

Uhh your trauma over killing someone vs them actually being dead??? There's no argument there who should be suing who.
