What the Frack?!-Eleni Loving p.1

Fracking is a controversial process that releases oil, gas, and usable energy from formations that are unable to be mined. This has shown to be extremely succesful economically and has been said by many to be able to naturally power the U.S. for 110 years. However, more and more are beginning to be worried with the hazardous effect of the process. It has been affecting some direct water supplies and is noticed by the EPA since it is polluting the air with such toxic chemicals like benzene, sulfur oxide, and methane.

I think this Seems to be very efficient although outrageosly dangerous to too many people. This relates to history because of the similar production of energy-giving resources like oil and major economic change during the Gilded Age.

  1. This is a very interesting article! It's easy to see how this process can create hazardous results especially with how many resources are being released!

  3. There's been so many protests and results that prove fracking is terrible. How much does it take to get them to stop?

  4. I'm very optimistic. But sometimes I loose my faith in humanity like this.

The government will never stop subsidizing oil and coal industries, and will never stip preventing green energy from competing fairly in the market. Not until the world runs out of oil. THEN they're gonna turn to the next worst thing- nuclear power.

Thanks humanity. Someone plz save me I'm going cynical.

  5. Fracking is terrible because it lowers our standard of living, releases air pollution, and degrades the environment. We only have 1 Earth, so we should be picking a method that is more eco-friendly.
