Summary: Monday morning, at 6:30 a.m., seven people, including two juveniles, attempted to steal approximately 50 Chanel handbags from Highland Park Village. The crew drove a van through the glass window and loaded the car with the handbags. An off duty police officer spotted the crime and alerted the police department. After quite a chase, the van blew two tires. The thieves took off on foot and the police ordered a search where they eventually caught all seven people and took them into custody. The police believe it was a well-thought out plan.
Analysis: This can relate back to the Gilded Age where poor people even stole from the rich. Just like the brave Robin Hood, many people stole for the good. However, I think it's awful that the seven people stole from the rich, but they might have something going on in their lives or brain that they need help with. If their lives were good, they wouldn't have time to think about stealing. I think we need to get more people like that some help.

ReplyDeleteSeveral teens attempt to steal 50 designer handbags by smashing through a window with a van. I didn't really see the part about giving back to the poor other than maybe trying to bail themselves out of jail, and the expenses of a lawyer? - Kera Mickus
