Powerball up to 1.3 billion

Saturday night the Powerball jackpot was up to 900 million dollars.  Many people were out buying their Powerball tickets hoping to win the big jackpot.  Powerball was the most talked about subject all over social media last night, and everyone was posting what they would do if they did win the money.  This morning lottery officials announced that there were no tickets that matched all six numbers, but there were several Texas prize winners who received either one million or two million dollars.  The odds to win the 900 million dollars were one in 292.2 million.  This was the largest lottery prize in the United States history. Since no one won last night, the pot has risen to 1.3 billion dollars.
Financial experts have noted that the middle class is getting smaller and smaller in America.  They are predicting that we would end up with only two classes, the lower and upper class, in the future.  The majority of Americans would fall in the lower class.  People who are in the low and middle classes are purchasing these Powerball tickets in hope to boost their income potential. This prediction of only two classes brings you back to the Gilded Age when the gap between rich and poor was wide.  During the late 1800s through the 1900s, an idea of Social Darwinism arose where only the fittest survive.  They believed that only the ones who could adapt to the environment in which they lived in would thrive and live on.  Since our world is getting so advanced and materialistic, it causes us to focus on making more money to thrive.

  2. I just read Alexis' article on this same subject! Like I said before, this topic is "ify" because some people are for it and some people are completely against it.
