For nearly two years now, astronauts have been attempted to sprout and edible flower in outer space. The zinnia flower thrived in outer space with the help of scientist Scott Kelly who planted the crops on Mars. The Zinnia's aren't the first plants to grow in space, there has been many veggie plants planted. Sprouting batches of red romaine lettuce (which the space crew happily ate.) The picture taken of the flower is really beautiful, not only is the flower at its height of bloom, but part of Earth is pictured in the back ground. Its truly is incredible. This relates back to US history because history is a series of events that create a historical impact on society. The day the US reached space marked a very important event in history, along with water on Mars. This could possibly be one of them. Next, life on Mars?
Very interesting to think about and a stunning photograph.

ReplyDeleteIt is amazing what people can do when they put their minds into it.
ReplyDeleteWow! I think that small achievements like this are what create future. They cannot be underrated. I absolutely love this photo and I am so excited for what else is to come from these scientists.
ReplyDeleteWhile it may seem like a small achievement, this is truly exciting!
ReplyDeleteThe picture is beautiful, and I hope more science achievements like this will happen during my lifetime.
