Florida Snake Hunt -Avery Yoss 4th

This Saturday, State officials announced the "snake hunt" for Florida. The burmese python, one of the largest snakes in the world, are loose in Florida. These snakes can weigh up to 200 pounds and up to 23 feet long. These snakes do not belong in Florida, or even in this hemisphere. So state officials made it a competition to see who could catch the most of these snakes. More than 600 people signed up to be part of this competition.

This seems like such a scary problem to have on their hands, even though the article said that this has been a problem for many years now. The article also states that these snakes are very good at hiding so they have never been so well as catching many of them.

  1. This is a very scary problem. If I lived in Florida I would definitely not feel safe for my life. Honestly, I think the competition was a good idea because it actually gets more people involved and hopefully it solves the problem quicker.

  2. This is crazy and its becoming such a problem that people keep removing wildlife from their natural habitat to unnatural places.

  5. I am slightly confused. Did the officials release the snake or did it escape from some sort of zoo? Also, why are people signing up to hunt this animal? I would be literally avoiding it at all costs, and I am not even afraid of snakes. This is a dangerous situation that needs to be stopped immediately.
