Birth control...to your door!(Alejandra Hernandez 6th period)

Summary: This article brings to light on how birth control is becoming easier and easier to access. There are now apps that will bring them to your door. There are many apps such as Nurx, Maven, Lemonaid and others. Nurx asks you medical questions and a doctor reviews your answers, providing the birth control for you, as well as shipping it to your door! These innovations are amazing for women who don't have time or money to go to a doctor. It is helping many women, whatever their lifestyle may be.

Analysis:This birth control idea has many view points whether it is right or wrong. I'm not going to discuss that, I will, however, discuss WHEN the varying viewpoints were introduced. During the Gilded age, these two women introduced a different viewpoint. The Woodhull sisters they introduced the idea of free love and was a tireless feminist propaganda. They often wrote their opinions on the "Woodhull and Clafin's Weekly". During this time newspapers were a success so her ideas were being shared. This little spark was a turning point for women, they were no longer bound by how they had to act, they were free to be who they wanted to be. This lead to a lot of arguments concerning these sisters.  Thomas Nast even portrayed her[Victoria Woodhull] in his political cartoons as 'Mrs. Satan', when she decided to run for president (the first woman to do so). The Gilded age had a lot of corruption but it did have its perks.

  2. I think that it is important for everyone to have the ability to get birth control, and I'm glad that there have been steps taken to ensure that no matter the economic status of a woman they can have birth control.
