Tonya Couch's bond lowered from $1 million to $75,000 - Lia Kerkman 6th period

Affluenza mom, Tonya Couch, got her bond lowered from one million to seventy-five thousand dollars. She was charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon. She was also ordered by the court to take a mental health exam and it was found that she had "a mental illness or is a person with a mental retardation". A mexican judge has granted Ethan Couch a temporary stay, haunting deportation proceedings. And early this week MADD started a petition supporting that he be moved from the juvenile to the adult criminal system.
I believe that he should definitely be moved to the adult justice system in regard that he IS an adult and he has been avoiding trial since the accident when he was sixteen. Tonya told her husband when she withdrawal 30k from their account and fled the U.S. that he wouldn't see them for a while. Now that she is finally back she is awaiting final trials that include bond, house arrest, and other serious consequences. As a mother I can see her desire to help her son and herself but they both need to face the consequences of their actions.

  1. This whole incident is so messed up, if he did have influenza then he wouldn't have fled the country because he wouldn't have been able to tell that what he did was wrong but because he did it's obvious to say that he knows that his actions were wrong. As for his mother, you would think that an adult would know better.
