Woman tries to kill her own children-Emily Eppig 8th period

     Earlier this week in Dallas, a woman was arrested for attempted murder after she forced her 4 year old son to consume a tablespoon of any poison mixed with water. She had tried to give the poison to her other two children and had later planned to eat the poison herself. Luckily the child who ingested the poison was immediately rushed to the hospital and is in stable condition. 
     This makes you wonder why she had children in the first place. In foreign countries like China, parents are only allowed to have up to 2 children, and this woman who had 3 healthy kids tried to kill them. 
     If you look back on American history, there have been many cases of unjust infanticide. If you look back at events like the Salem witch trials, many young woman and even children were killed after being accused of witchcraft. These children did nothing wrong, but due to the craziness of their elders, they had to suffer. The woman who committed this crime obviously had some sort of mental problem or condition. It's important for children to be safe at home and because of that, certain unstable people shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of kids.
