a photographer travels around the middle east capturing moments of the children that are forced to flee their country. he comes to a conclusion that not all children are lucky to have a safe home like most of us do. Magnus Wennman captures different children about to sleep in fear of what their night is going to be like. they explained to Wennman that the reason of why they fear falling asleep is because they fear the nightmares that are about to happen and they are scared of what could happen to them at night. the photographer explains how he witnesses the camp in Hungary and how the children are sometimes left outside of the gates because they didn't make it back in time and are forced to sleep outside in fear.
Analysis: it's hard to comprehend the idea that a lot of kids in the world have to suffer while we sit at home in air conditioning and are being fed while other starve. Wennman pointed out that it takes a lot for a child to lose their innocence and dread going to sleep. every child is supposed to feel safe before they go to sleep since sleep is supposed to be relaxing. i hope that one day the children in the world can go to sleep feeling safe and loved. i know thats a long way off so for now we should focus on fixing the things we can. all this is caused by war and war has been in our history since we have been our own nation. we can compare this article/ outcome of war to the times of segregation and lynching. black families were in fear of what might happen to them at night since there was a large group of people that wanted them gone. the people in these countries go to sleep in fear because they don't know what will happen to them or their families since there are people out to kill.

It seems like something like being afraid to fall asleep would be fixed by now in our world! As you mentioned, this has been going on since black families would go to sleep afraid of what they would endure the next morning as slaves. Hopefully, in the future, all children will be able to fall asleep safely in their own bed.
