Ohio Votes Against Legalizing Marijuana, Nora Bracy 5th

Ohio voted yesterday on the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana. It would have been an amendment on Ohio's state constitution, and would've allowed licensed individuals to grow it, for adults over 21 to possess it, and individuals with a medical condition to use it. They voted against this.

Personally, I support the legalization of marijuana. I think you have to look at all the effects it has had on the states that have legalized it. Colorado economically is doing very well. Plus, I don't really get why marijuana is thought of as so much worse than alcohol. It's so hard to get everyone in government to agree on something. Things like this and gun laws are so over complicated. It makes me think about all the demands the founding fathers had to agree on to make the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution.

  1. I believe that if they were to legalize marijuana, there should definitely be a limit so it doesn't get out of hand in the state.

  2. I agree with you, marijuana is a lot like alcohol. It inhibits the decision-making process but that's why it's fun. Limits could be set but overall this issue has just become tiring. Everyone should just legalize it already

  3. I agree as well, I don't understand why the government thinks that if they don't legalize marijuana, it will positively benefit the state. -Sophie Kurzius (8)

  4. I agree, there should maybe be a limit so it does not get out of hand. I also agree that they should agree to legalize it because it really isnt that different from alcohol.

  5. It's the same thing as alcohol so they should legalize it just like they legalized alcohol. -Kayleigh Smerud
