Summary:
A team of designers have recently created a machine that makes a cocktail based on the characteristics of your Facebook likes. To be clearer the "Social Shot", the name of the machine, analyzes your Facebook likes, using the 5 personalities that the psychology 'factor model" uses to create a shot-sized cocktail. Each of the previously used traits is/are represented by a color. The machine uses a particular algorithm, then dispenses a unique and particular amount of ingredients based on how strongly you relate to each of the 5 personalities, however each drink ends up being only 20 ml. Along with analyzing this data, the drink looks visually aesthetic, because the machine dispenses each ingredient (color) on top of one another, which ends up creating a unique color combination each time. Sadly there is no confirmation that the machine will make an appearance at your local bar, however it is a very cool and innovative creation.
Analysis:
In all honesty I get really excited when I hear about fun and creative inventions like this. I really think even though this machine, right now, is nothing more than for entertainment, I am glad to see that there are still people out there coming up with new and exciting ideas and turning them into reality. This makes me feel hopeful for me and what my generation will be able to invent and create. This event can be related to U.S. history when new products from Apple or other companies are released. just like this machine, every other product was invented through countless hours of thought, blueprints, ideas and a dream.
