Ben Carson takes lead on republican side in front of Donald Trump-Molly Mitchell 5th

Summary:

Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, takes the lead in the Republican Presidential debate. He beats out Donald Trump's 23% with his 29% approval. Although the other Republican debaters are not far behind, and this seems to be quite a close race on their part. Trump's fluctuating status as the forerunner is no big surprise, racist and sexist comments on his part have led him to be very unpopular among many, though he still seems to have avid admirers.

Analysis:

Although normally I am not one to lean towards the more conservative viewpoints, I think its always important to see all sides of every argument, which is why I choose to pay attention to both arguments rather than just one. That said, I can't say I really have any particular fondness for canidates like Trump, or even Carson for that matter but mostly Trump. But I digress, the reason this article stood out to me was not only because of its information on the possibility of who could be out future President, but also because of some of the key lessons we've learned as of recent in APUSH. Most notably, Andrew Jackson, and how his portrayal as a man of the people as affected how we elect our leaders today.

  1. If there's a possibility that Americans are suprised he wouldn't be ahead of the debate, the only arguement would be because he's Donald Trump. Other than that, he should receive votes based on the gaffy and racist remarks he makes. - Cassidy Jones

  2. I guess people are kind of realizing that Donald Trump is just a troll doll who fell asleep in the tanning bed for about fifty years, and have become completely disillusioned by Trump's just absolute weirdness.
