Temple Mount crisis fuels unrest in volatile Jerusalem -Elizabeth Walker p.3

This article focuses on all of the ruckus going on in Jerusalem right now. the Isreali and the Palestiniens are fighting over the same land that they each seem holy in their own specific way. they both feel a right to this land but the only thing coming out of this argument is death, destruction and prisoners for both sides.
This closely related to how in the beginning of the United States many people fought for the land that we now live on and they all felt that they had an obligation to own it even though the natives had lived there long before everyone else. The struggle with Isreal is that this conflict goes back so far that you have to base your side on opinion rather than fact just because no one knows who really started the debocle.

  1. The situation in Israel and Palestine is truly devastating. This war, which is centrally focused rights to land (that both sides can justify as theirs) must be resolved through peaceful means.
