Recently, at the border between Pakistan and India a suicide bomber executed an attack at a parade. The bombing occurred at Wagah, a border checkpoint, which is the only road pass between the two nations. At the border a parade goes on daily at sunset between people in both India and Pakistan that signifies the peace between the two countries. The parade is usually packed with tourist who come see the ceremony. When the parade was over and people started to leave is when the attacker set off the bomb. The bomb killed 45 and injured 55 so far. Most of the injured have been taken to a local hospital. Some say the the hospital won't provide adequate care and many more will die. Many have rushed to the scene to donate blood and care for those is harmed. Officials are not yet certain of the intent of the bomber, but speculate that the terrorist attack is against Pakistan. The government knows that the checkpoint is a target for many extremest group and have high security, but the security admits that it is hard to control who enters the parade with its large radius. The ceremony has taken place everyday for over 55 years, but know will be postponed till Thursday.
The attack that occurred in Wagah can be related to a number of instances in American history. 9/11 can be easily be related. Just how the twin towers were a target that signified American commerce and prosperity, Wagah targeted for Pakistan independence. The attacks illustrate the importance of security. After 9/11, the US took extra precautions dealing with air travel and transportation. I can predict that the security at the parade in Pakistan will increase. Also, can be connected to the Boston Marathon bombing that also affected people in crowds. All of these occurrences are hard to predict and could become more prevalent; especially, with the strength of groups like ISIS that threaten nations everywhere. Hopefully, all nations can increase security in order to protect against future attacks.
