Charges dropped agasint AC/DC Drummer Phil Rudd Juliana Cortez Pd.3
Recently a New Zealand Police tried to drop a charge against AC/DC's drummer claiming that he tried to "Produce Murder"- punishable by up to 10 years. The 60 year old drummer was accused Thursday morning for the death of two men and the possession methamphetamine. but it was decided by the Crown Solicitor
that there wasn't enough evidence to justify it. However the other charges, including the count of threatening to kill, remain in effect, Mabey said.
Details of the case against Rudd have yet to be published, with
the identities of the alleged hit man and following with the alleged victims who are protected by court order. Mabey has stated that Rudd's identity also should have been
protected, and he complained that "the damage to Mr. Rudd is
incalculable."
Rudd's arrest and recent absence from publicity materials for AC/DC
have been raising questions about the band's scheduled world tour beginning
early next year. In a brief statement, the band said on Thursday: "We've
only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no
further comment. Phil's absence will not affect the release of our new
album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year."
