Basket ball dream lived by cancer patient by: Ruby Aguilar

Lauren Hill, has brain cancer. She is a strong girl, who understands it's scheduled. She wont admit that she is losing and wants to keep living. Her dream was to step out on a college court, looking out at her shoes, stepping out on the wooden floor, and feel the vibration of the crowd. She plays while she is dying. She started feeling slow, numb, and in November her senior year she got diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, giving only 2 years at best to live. She played her senor year hoping for a change, but it did not come. Something else did: to live, speak, play for all the children with cancer who cannot. She decided to represent it. After her latest MRI this fall her life expectancy was shortened to December. She is losing feeling in her side, her joints are hurting, but what breaks her most is knowing that there is nothing that can be done. Her dream was accomplished thanks to the support of her coach, parents, and community.

I think it is good to see that she tries to she the positive side and be a face for children with cancer and fight her way through. She uses her rights, her freedom of speech and speaks for others.
