The trial for a Dallas man who killed his wife while she was on the phone with 911 is set for February.
Delvecchio Patrick, 35, is charged with the murder of his ex-wife Deanna Cook in Aug. 2012. His trial will start on Feb. 3, 2014.
Cook was found in the bathtub two days after she made a call to 911 during which she could be heard screaming for her ex-husband to stop attacking her.
Cook's murder triggered an investigation into how 911 calls are handled in Dallas.
Patrick had been previously arrested three times for domestic violence.
"It's emotional. This is my first time seeing him. He didn't look sad at all. He didn't look unhappy for what happened and it just hurts, it just hurts so bad," said Vickie Cook, mother of Deanna.
I think that it's terrible that a person could kill another human. No violence is okay. Putting you hands on another human being should not even me possible. I hope that her family finds it in her hurt to forgive them and I pray that God helps her family get through this.

If she was on the phone with 911 when her husband was attacking her, why didn't authorities show up sooner? It seems a little weird to me that they didn't find her until two days later even though they could've tracked the call and gone to the location where they were.
ReplyDeleteComment by Rhyann Lee 5th period. I think this is so sad. I was watching something on a TV show just like this. I hate when 911 gets there so slow or don't show up at all that could save someone's life. I pray for her family so many people are getting hurt these past few days.
