Summary: The assassination of John F. Kennedy, who was shot and killed in Dallas, TX, is nearing its 50th anniversary. As there has always been with this subject, newer and more complex conspiracy theories about certain elements in the assassination have been making headlines. In particular, one father-son duo has come up with a new theory about the single-bullet shot that killed JFK. I'm sure you have heard the story, one single bullet passed through both JFK and Texas Governor John Connally. For these past 4.9 decades, many people have wondered if one single bullet could be capable of this much damage. After using 3D imagery to study the bullet trajectories, Luke and Michael Haag believe they have come up with the answer everyone has been trying to find. The father-son team believe that yes, a bullet could have been shot and gone through Kennedy, killing him, and then gone on to further injure Connally. The father-son's main argument is that Connally's bullet wound is consistent with that of a tumbling bullet, one that has hit something before. They also further go onto say that the shot made by Lee Harvey Oswald was actually a pretty easy shot.
Analysis: I really wanted to write about the JFK assassination because it is an event that everyone should be familiar with in great detail. I know a lot about JFK's assassination only because I have chosen to do a lot of research and watch a lot of documentaries/movies/tv specials about it. Some people however, probably don't know that much about it because it is not something that interests them. I thought that this was particularly interesting because I always find it amusing to read about conspiracy theories, because most of the time they are some outlandish attempt to try and gain publicity. This, however, is not like most conspiracy theories. This theory is actually insightful and has been backed up by science. Most conspiracy theories are aimed against the government, but this one is an actual new finding.
