Summary: On September 2, 2013 a very tragic event took place in the city of Brooklyn, New York. That day a one-year-old boy was murdered. He was shot and killed as his parents were simply taking a nice evening walk in the evening, while pushing him in the stroller. It happened around 7:19pm that evening near their home. Antiq Hennis, the victim, was shot on the left side of his head, says the police, and he was pronounced dead upon their arrival at Brookdale Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York. Ironically, the killing occurred a couple of days after an eighteen year old male was given a life sentence for murdering another one-year-old kid in a stroller in Brunswick, Georgia. The murderer, DeMarquise Elkins is sentenced life in the killing of Antonio Santiago, after demanding money. The police did not release any additional information in regards to the shooting.

Analysis: The article was written by David Simpson with. It was reported on September 2, 2013 at 8:40 am. Although this particular could appear is vaguely insignificant to some, it actually is. It suggest various meanings. However, I think the main idea of the article is simply to keep the United States informed on matters such as this, like perhaps sending an alert to those with children of a very young, being that they are the main target of this predator. In addition, the article could be reassuring those who may have heard about the incident before, that they are "safe" from that particular person, considering he was sentenced life in prison. With that being said, the target audience of the article is for people with children of an early childhood age, or simply anyone who may have resided in those areas. This story could have a both positive and negative influence on the audience. Negative because of the tragedy alone. Positive, because of the "comforting" message it could have conveyed to the audience. In conclusion, the essential importance and relevance of the document is that tragedies such as this are reoccurring in the United States, and something that should really be taken into consideration overall. Put yourself in their shoes.

  2. I agree with your analysis. Although it was confusing in the beginning like a couple words were left out maybe? Anyhow, people should def. be made aware of certain cases such as these on HIGH ALERT. If i had a one year old i would def. like to know if there were people running around killing them.

  4. it is very sad and disturbing that tragic events of this sort are occurring throughout this country! I agree that alerts should be projected towards families with children of the age, not just in Georgia and New York, especially considering the fact that this happened in separate states!
