Old Man Dies Khelsey Gamble 2nd Period

http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/14/us/worlds-oldest-man-dies/index.html?hpt=us_t4

This articles talks about how the oldest man in the world, Salustiano Sanchez, dying. Sanchez was a citizen of New York and died peacefully in a nursing home. Though Sanchez was originally born in Spain, he moved to Cuba, than to the States. He had many activities, and had two children, grandchildren, great-grand children, and great-great- grandchildren! Even though he has to leave behind so many people, it is good to see him go due to the longevity of his life, and his suffering of three months.

The reason I chose this is because we can not even imagine what parts of history this man has seen unfold. He was alive during slavery, during women suffrage, through the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam War, WWII, He's seen it all! I wonder if he took the ever changing opinions of society in stride, and learned to accept other people, or was he so old school that he was left thinking like it was the 1950s.. It amazes me how much has happened in America over 112 years, and how much progressed we have made, and it makes me wonder if Sanchez liked the changes. I hope his friends and family are able to overcome his death, and lead full, happy, long lives like Mr.Sanchez did.

  1. Never thought about it that way before, makes me wonder how we would think when we're older and seen laws/changes we didn't approve of passed

I did my current even on him to! I think it is such a blessing that he has lived this long and seen so much ! Also that by him living long he learned many important things in his 112 years
