This past weekend in Dallas, North Texan Residents hosted two rallies in relation to the intervention in Syria. The first being held Saturday morning in Dealey Plaza in support of any sort of U.S. action while the second rally that was held in the afternoon at the same location opposed any of sort of U.S. intervention. Although both rallies may not have been in support of U.S. Intervention, both would like to see a peaceful resolution within Syria that honors the more than 14 hundred people killed by chemical weapons.
Currently, the Syrian Rebel Fighters are trying to take down the Syrian President who they believe is involved with the chemical weapons that killed these people. In doing so, this has caused multiple bombings and continuous attacks. The supporters of U.S. Intervention do not wish for the U.S. to conduct a military invasion but for the U.S. Government to support the Syrian Rebel Fighters with more than just "Lip Service". As for the Non-Supporters, they feel that the U.S. government should back off. Although they want a peaceful agreement between the Syrian President and The Rebels, they would prefer it be done without U.S. involvement due to the issues that are still occurring here in the U.S.,such as the war that is still going on in Afghanistan, without spending more money and man power in other countries.
In my opinion, I feel that there is nothing wrong with supporting the U.S. Intervention if done from a distant. I fully agree that there has been enough blood shed and that there should be a PEACEFUL resolution reached without any military invasion. But if that will end up being the final outcome is the real question. Even if the U.S. supports this cause non-violently, there is still a possibility that we could go to war. Anything could happen.
