My article was written by Dorrine Mendoza and published on September 10, 2013. The article talks about a man who robbed a market/deli in Nashville, Tennessee. The owner's name is Somboon Wu and he had never had problems with robberies before this night. Twelve years later the men who previously robbed the shop, return to offer the store owner money and a handwritten apology note. In the note they said they were drug addicts and they were sorry for the damage. Four hundred dollars were enclosed inside. Now twelve years after the incident, Wu states that if the men ever want to come back to his store they are more than welcome to. The guilt must have hit the men, but it was strange timing. Within twelve years, so much can happen it is surprising that the men waited this long to take action. Analyzing this article, the men must have gotten their lives back together and felt guilty about what they did. Hopefully, their lives are starting to get back on track.

Jasmine Easte- wow I've never heard of robbers posting an apology letter. At least this shows that even after all of this time they still remembered and felt bad. Just another example of how you can't judge a book by it's cover.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing so many horrible stories about robberies, it's nice to see one like this. It is good that the men realized that they made a mistake. If I was the owner I would react the same way. It is obvious they realized what they did wrong, but I wonder why they took 12 years to apologize? Either way the men did the right thing and I respect them for being brave enough to confront their previous mistakes. Ilana Lemack
ReplyDeleteIt's fascinating that they ended up apologizing and paid the store owner. I suppose it just goes to show that anything can happen. Guilt is a powerful force.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this apology letter will make other potential robbers think twice before stealing. Though stealing is awful, and I do not condone it in any way, it's nice to see that someone actually showed remorse and responsibility for what they had done.
ReplyDeleteI Think it is really nice that these robbers apologized for what they did. Although what they did was wrong, I'm glad they came to their senses and did the right thing after all.- Nia Edwards
ReplyDeleteIt is always touching to receive apology from someone who did wrong...it shows that that person is really stung by the guilt that he or she has done..I wish more of the world would be like that.
