I've never really been one to show much emotion, but Wayne Drash's "A Child of War, with a Sense of Purpose"
seemed to bring me to tears more than once. The article told the amazing journey of a strong young woman who
lost both of hr patents with in the same month. One from the war in. Alfghanistan and the other from a long
battle with Ovarian Cancer. The child father was the first person to be killed in the war. The Article tells
he at first she was in denial about the situation for a long time but with age she found strength. Alison Spann
is in no doubt the strongest person I've ever heard of. I know if I was in her situation I would never be the same .
At only 9 years old she lost both of her parents. The way Dash wrote the article he didn't take away from the
true story at all. The article was well written, evoked emotion, and I feel it is a must read for everyone.
It depicts a side to the war that is a little closer to home.
