SUMMARY: 6 British soldiers were accused and arrested for assaulting a 30-year old police officer outside of a bar in
Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood. The soldiers were in New York visiting for a battalion rugby match. They were all Fiji nationals in the British Army. The reasoning for the fighting is still unclear. All six soldiers were charged with third-degree assault, and one with robbery for trying to steal the officers cell phone. The 30 year old officer and his 26 year old friend were born hospitalized for their bruises and injuries. The men's names were Iosefo Yavala, Iliakini Raderua, Thomas Shute, Felite Vunisarati, Mosese Kuruala, and Joeli Raduva.

It's surprising to me that rugby, being as violent as it is, is still legal. Obviously if fights are breaking out because of an unusually brutal game, there is something immoral or impractical about it. It's a shame that they had to be hospitalized.
