On March 15, President Trump signed a free-speech executive order that requires universities to allow their students to have free speech or risk loosing federal funding. This reminds me of the supreme court decision Schenck v. United States, where the Supreme Court ruled that the espionage and Sedition Acts (which limited free speech during the Red Scare) were constitutional and did not violate first amendment rights. This is the exact opposite of what the executive order did, but it poses a few questions. What is free speech, and how far should its protections extend?

I enjoy the free speech but I also feel that it leads to a lot of conflict -kloe rhoden
