On March 12, the Department of Justice announced that 50 people had been arrested in connection with a college admissions scandal. They had been accused of cheating on entrance exams, bribing college admissions officials, etc. Though it was not a government scandal, the effects reminded me strongly of Watergate. The trust dissolved between the people and the entity is strongly reminiscent of that following the publication of the Watergate scandal.
