UK grocery chain Waitrose has apologized after being accused of racism over the names of The Waitrose Trio of Chocolate Easter Ducklings. The three ducklings were named Fluffy, for the white chocolate duck, Crispy for the milk chocolate, and Ugly for the dark chocolate duck. People (especially on Twitter) have questioned why Waitrose had called the darkest duckling Ugly. Waitrose has since apologized saying that they were “very sorry for any upset caused by the name of this product, it was absolutely not our intention to cause any offence” and that they had “changed the labeling and [put the ducklings] back on sale." A possible explanation for the name is a reference to the fairytale "The Ugly Duckling."
Well… Okay. Don't really know where to start with this one. I would say that maybe some SJW's had hopped on this and blew it out of proportion, because, to be honest, it is just a chocolate duckling… It's not that deep. But on the other hand, I genuinely cannot come up with a decent explanation for calling the dark one “Ugly.” Maybe if the other two ducklings had names that were obvious references to famous ducks then the name “Ugly” would have been more palatable. Also, the fact that the Grocery chain had no defense for the name either represents a high level of maturity or something more deliberate behind the namings. I'm not sure how British businesses conduct themselves, but I can assume that the names of the ducks had to pass through several levels before hitting production and then later the shelves of grocery stores. Not one person saw an issue with the names? It seems a little naïve to think that that is possible. So I'll leave it up to you: Racist grocery chain vs. Innocent mistake. At least they worked quickly to remove the label and begin resale without a fight. Wow! Look! The British can do it better than we can. Look at how much it took to attempt to eliminate even segregation!

I think the constant slander of darker skinned people needs to come to an end the fact that companies thought the was okay ids wrong on so many levels. imagine the darker skinned little girl growing up thinking she is ugly because they said she was.
