The Notre Dame Cathedral Catches Fire by Kloé Rhoden

On April 4th 2019 the Notre Dame Cathedral which began building 1163 and wasnt finished until 1345 caught fire as firefighters try to preserve the frayed, and beloved structure. The fire was detained the following day, nonetheless many civilians were affected by this. The nearby homes were forced to evacuate for their safety. Authorities are still unsure of the cause of fire but have ruled out Arson and Terrorism. Luckily there were no deaths and only one injured firefighters. to summarize a beloved piece of French history was almost destroyed but luckily was saved. I think it was a beautiful miracle that it was saved. This relates back to the burring of the White House while the war of 1812 was going on.

  1. What caused this fire? I have not read other articles covering this topic so I am not aware of the details. It would be even more sad if this part of history was lost / partially destroyed because of an act of terrorism.

  2. I agree that it would be very despairing if many more more pieces could not be recovered or able to be fixed.
