In the US state of North Carolina, a man accused of cruelty to an aquarium fish was arrested. Reported by WECT.
When inspecting the house, where 53-year-old Michael Ray Hinson used to live, they found a dirty aquarium in which a fish swam. She suffered from malnutrition and hexamytosis, a disease that could be associated with poor conditions. As it turned out, after the move, Hinson left her in the old apartment.
The sheriff's assistants seized the fish and took them to the pet store, where they plan to go out and find a new owner for it. According to the seller, it is an eye-shaped astronaut, which can grow up to 40 centimeters in length. "They are amenable to training, have different characters, some are aggressive," - he says.
Hinson has been charged with abandoning the animal and three cases of animal abuse. In the sheriff's office, they noted that the man had become the first resident of the district, who was convicted of cruelty to fish.

At first sight, I thought it's very stupid to arrest someone just because of a little fish. But then if you will just think about this and if you will think about fish as about just some pet that person has, all becomes clear and I think it is fair to do like this. Because every time people began to take care of their new pet, they often don't realize all the importance of responsibility. And everyone must have this understanding of what they are doing. And what the matter if it is about some big animal, or about just fish? They are all alive and since they can't experience all the joy of wild and free life, we must take care of them all and make them feel as good as if they could be free from us.
