Python found in Florida - Maria Golici

The largest python was found according to Officials at a South Florida Preserve. It was a female python that was 17 feet long and weighed 140 pound with 73 developing eggs. They were able to find her by the male pythons which had radio transmitters to track down breeding female pythons.

As of last year records shows a high in Burmese Pythons due to Hurricane Andrews. They have flourished in the Southern Florida ecosystem, decimating the local species. This stubbornly invasive species could potentially make their way out of state borders. So make sure you doors stay closed and your houses are properly gated because you just might get a nice surprise one morning.

  1. I just saw this article on CNN a couple days ago. I think it’s so crazy how big of a snake that was, and it just shows how fast and how scary our earth really is. 17 feet it’s insanely long especially when it’s an animal that prays on other animals. I think that snakes or terrifying. I just saw this article on CNN a couple days ago.
