US shutdown -Paige Aleman
Senator Lindsey Graham has said that a limited re-opening of a few weeks would allow talks to resume between Republicans and Democrats. This partial government shutdown has become the longest in US history and has left thousands of public workers unpaid and government offices closed. Trump is refusing to approve a budget unless it includes $5.7bn (£4.5bn) for a wall along the Mexican border to which Democrats have rejected said request for funding to build it and say they will not negotiate further until the government is reopened.
Trumps reason for the wall was to keep other people out who were seeking better opportunities like many immigrants in the gilded age and also like back then, they are also not being treated well. It makes me really disappointed to find that we haven't improved much in this department since that time.

I think the government should not have shut down in the first place. For starters you are not paying people and that means people can’t feed their families which is seriously tragic.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it is dissapointing to find that we haven't imporved much. It is sad to think of all the outcomes that will happene because of this government shutdown.
