Trump Banning Trans Community? -- Rose Tharp

Despite blatant reassurances to protect the LGBT+ community in his campaigning of 2016, Trump is only taken steps away from the acceptance so much of the population demands. He has taken steps to keep the transgender populous out of the military, removed protections in work places, prisons and healthcare.

This parallels when Santa Anna promised to lead justly when he was advocating for a leadership position in the Mexican government. He made empty promises and as soon as he was elected, he became a huge tyrant.

  1. As I'm sure most people are, I am incredibly upset that as president Trump's presidential term progresses, he shows less and less acceptance for minority groups. I think that these issues will only get worse for the next two (or six) years, but hopefully our next president will help us to bounce back and improve how we create a country that is truly for ALL people.

  2. He was adamant during his campaign that he would protect LGBTQ+ rights and not surprisingly, he did not keep his promise. We as a nation need to continue to do our best to protect marginalized groups.

  3. This is very upsetting to many people, this is supposed to be land of thre free but Trump is slowly taking away our rights as humans to express ourselves for who we are

  4. This is incredibly sad to me. How are we taking steps back as a society when we should be moving forward? We should be accepting EVERYONE in this day and age. Shame on you, Trump.
