On October 26, a man named Cesar Sayoc was arrested for sending bombs to public figures like former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and others that are well-known to the public eye. He has a criminal record and has had an instance where he made a bomb threat in the past. Sayoc faces 58 years in prison for transporting explosives across state lines and illegally mailing them, threatening former presidents and others, and threatening interstate communications and assaulting federal officials. Some of his targets seem to be opposers of current President Trump, which has led some people to believe this is an act against those who do not favor Trump's policies.
This article was made to inform the public. This article shows how very life-threatening events can be so close to happening to very famous public figures. In my opinion, it is disturbing that someone tried to bomb so many known public figures and kind of act as if he wouldn't get caught. It has caught my eye in the sense that we still do not have enough security in terms of firearms and explosives and this is definitely going to affect us very much in the future, more than it is right now.

ReplyDeleteThis is such an interesting topic considering that Barack Obama was targeted in this event.I feel like no president has been targeted or had a death threat like this since John F. Kennedy .I can't believe anyone would want to do such harm. -Lesly Marquez
