Pastor Rev. Jasper Williams Jr. is getting a a lot of attention for his commentary saying black America is losing" its soul"at Aretha Franklins funeral. A lot of people were questioning why he was chosen to be the pastor . Franklin,34 years ago, said he was chosen by the family to handle the eulogy of her funeral.
Some people called Williams' eulogy a "disaster" his speech caused a lot of controversy on social media and at the funeral, Stevie Wonder yelled out "Black Lives Matter" after Pastor Jasper said"No black lives do not matter" during his sermon.
Analysis: This article was a trending topic because Aretha Franklins, queen of soul, funeral had just happened on August 31,2018. The pastor had some some very interesting views in his sermon which woke up people on social media and at the funeral. When interviewed the pastor says his intentions were sincere but there are things people still disagree with his sermon.
