11-year-old becomes fourth fatal victim in domestic shooting- Alma Alvarado-Cabrera-

In Maryland Police unfortunately announced the death of an 11 year old girl that has become the fourth member of the family to die from a shooting rampage by her father , that also killed himself.  The girl's name was Mina Kim she was pronounce dead Thursday September 20th after being shot on Monday that same week with several wounds at the family's Montgomery County home. The shooting only left one survivor, a 22-year old women who was the shooter's (Young Mun Kim) stepdaughter , who is still hospitalized. Police said that the 22- year old called 911 after midnight Monday . Young Mun Kim shot his wife , Sang Yeon Kim , and their two children Mina and their ten 10 year old boy Andy. At the end nothing could be done since Young took the gun and shot himself.

This article is from abcNEWS that was posted by the Associated Press in Silver Spring Maryland, September 22, 2018.  I had no idea about this domestic shooing . In the U.S the number of shootings keeps growing and nothing is being done about it. This was just heartbreaking for me to read.  This has brought my attention because it was at their own home and the shooter was a family member. It's better to not ignore it, something like this can happen anytime. There will be some peace if something was done about gun violence in the first place . This is for anyone to read , to be informed that gun violence is still happening. The author's feel some kind of sympathy towards this , their main purpose to witting this is to warn the public to stay safe even at their own home , that in this situation home wasn't even a safe place. This is important, unfortunately news keep count on the number of shootings per year and I think this year has the most number of shootings.

  1. I personally think that shootings shouldn’t be kept in the shadows but it is important for people to know what is going on and they can do something about it

  2. Emma Burkey: I defiantly agree that any sort of gun violence that happens, be it domestic or public, should be talked about and reported on. This has gone on for too long and it is appalling that we are letting more and more people die from gun violence when something could be done about it.

  3. Every incident of gun violence is of the same importance, no matter the death count. Using a gun as means to hurt others is a sad reality in this country and I hope that the mass shootings aren't the only instances publicized.
