Harvard is getting a new president, by the name of Lawrence Bacow. The university announced it yesterday, and they chose him because of his amazing leadership and way of working. Drew Faust was the first female president of Harvard, and is stepping down after eleven years. Currently, the university is facing a lot of problems trying to get their systems matched with different associations. The new 1.4 excise tax for example, could possibly cost the school 43 million dollars a year. They have had issues with arguments that they discriminate against Asian-Americans. Bacow was president of Tufts University for ten years, so he is well equipped with running schools. They considered over 700 people for tis job. He already has three degrees with Harvard.

This relates to APUSH because higher education, as seen, allows for more experienced jobs and better paying opportunities. Allowing someone so qualified creates room for growth and for help with financial problems and to help the next generation learn even more.
