Portraits of former president Barack Obama and his first lady Michelle Obama were unveiled on Monday at the National Portrait Gallery. They have received very mixed reviews. Many social media critics bashed the portrait questioning if the picture was actually of Michelle while Barack Obama himself praised the artist. Dr. Eugene Gu tweeted that the picture was elegant but was not of Michelle Obama.
The portraits, however, have received some praise too. Michelle Obama has commented how her portrait will effect the younger generations to come.
